In this short summer course, we'll be creating an art journal. We will pull our inspiration from the past, through the lives, art, and creative habits of people such as Anne Frank, Albert Einstein, Vincent Van Gogh, Hellen Keller, and many more.
For eight weeks, we'll explore materials, methods, and creative habits that will inspire us to keep our creative juices flowing all our lives through the art of expression, collection, organization, and experimentation.
We'll capture our stories, create poems, draw and paint about our personal experiences this summer.
Meanwhile we'll be learning important drawing techniques, measuring methods, transfer processes, and all about page layout and composition.
Join us this summer for a fun, light-hearted, and creatively expressive class!
Use your favorite materials, but here's a list of options and ideas:
Journal or Sketchbook (Preferably 8x10", mixed media, and 90lb weight or higher)
Charcoal and Graphite pencils,
Permanant ink pens (fine and broad tipped)
Watercolor paints or Acrylic
Gesso (helps to seal the paper so you can more easily add paint)
Paint Brushes of varying shapes and sizes
We'll go over all of the possible materials during the first class.
(Please feel free to use your favorite materials)
Please bring your journal and something to write with during the class. You're welcome to create in your visual journal while we're in class, but won't be required to. Each week you'll have an assignment to complete, and upload/share the assignment through canvas.
