Elementary Arabic is designed for elementary students without any prior exposure to the Modern Arabic language. Students will learn to recognize and pronounce many Arabic words, will learn the Arabic alphabet, some Arabic songs, and the pronunciation for consonants, long vowels, and short vowels. They will also learn to write Arabic letters, in all different forms by writing simple words. In addition, students will learn various Arabic greetings and how to introduce themselves.

Rima Zafaran, B.A.
Rima El Chami Zafaran is a Lebanese native speaker, who was born, raised, and educated in Lebanon. She graduated from Balamand University and has taught the Arabic language to a wide variety of age levels for more than 8 years. Rima moved to the United States in 2005. She and her husband, who is a Syrian Antiochian Orthodox priest, have four beautiful children.
Textbook and Materials:
- No Textbook: the instructor will supply classroom materials.
- Students should have notebooks and pencils, as well as a whiteboard for practicing Arabic writing.
