Elementary Russian 2

Grades 4-6
DescriptionMaterials

Welcome to Elementary School Russian 2! This course is a continuation of the adventure begun in Elementary Russian 1. Students continue to develop the skills of functional communication (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in Russian and are introduced to more aspects of Russian culture. Students learn to communicate basic needs of everyday life using simple 4–6-word sentences and questions, develop basic functional vocabulary and expressions (e.g., greetings, introductions, family and friends, school, colors, numbers, shopping, food, health, pets, sports, transportation, etc.), and practice reading and retelling paragraph-long stories in Russian.

The course provides students with the grammatical and lexical elements that are essential for basic communication. Additional worksheets, projects, videos, and reading passages will introduce students to the variety of cultures and traditions represented in the Russian-speaking world.
