Complete Integrated Homeschool Program for Grades 1 - 4:  Medieval Times

(May also be used as a family program with children through 8th Grade)
NOTE: This course is open to new families. Students are not required to complete the "Ancient Times" course before enrolling in this class.

Everything You Need to Homeschool with Confidence

In this course, 25-year veteran homeschool mother Esther Phillips teams up with the CLRC to share her decades of homeschooling experience with parents of elementary school children. Drawing heavily on the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason, this complete and flexible homeschool package can be tailored to each family’s unique circumstances. Families receive guidance and resources in all areas of their own Home School.

For those families with children between the ages of 6-13, reduce your work by having all your children study the same period in history; memorize the same scripture verses; cover the same geography work; enjoy the same artist, poet and composer; read the same Shakespeare play.

PLEASE NOTE: This course is not eligible for Charter School funding.

"I have had the privilege to work with Esther Phillips in a classroom setting for the past five years.  Her integrated curriculum and teaching style have blessed my family in many ways.  The children have developed a love for learning, and I have developed the confidence to homeschool my children.  Esther includes multiple subjects woven together, which enables the children to make connections to the material on their own. Numerous resources and support are offered, which creates an environment that allows parents to be assured they are giving their children the highest quality education. She is a gifted teacher who inspires others to enjoy the journey of homeschooling." -- Tiffani G., Idaho

Esther Phillips, Integrated Homeschool Program Coordinator

Esther Phillips began homeschooling her own children over 25 years ago and quickly became a proponent of Charlotte Mason and Classical education. Though from England, her childhood was spent mainly in Kenya and Hong Kong until her family settled in rural Lincolnshire, UK. Esther's father, himself classically educated and able to read Latin, Greek and Hebrew, inspired in Esther a love of learning and lifelong wonder and discovery. She has spent 15 years setting up, directing, and teaching homeschool co-ops and has served as a consultant to many homeschool families, with a desire to foster in them confidence and joy.

Esther has five children, with one still at home completing their homeschooling journey. She lives in Idaho and enjoys reading (of course) and writing (when she gets a chance).

Anne Van Fossen, M.A., CLRC Classical Languages Program Director

Anne-Anne Van Fossen  spent seven years working with her husband, John, to found a Christian Classical K-8 school in California. Anne was the Director of Program and Curriculum Development and head of the Ancient Languages Department. She has over 15 years of experience teaching classical Greek and Latin to all ages from Kindergarten to adult. Anne earned her Master’s degree in Classics from the University of California at Santa Barbara where she was awarded the Keith Aldridge Memorial Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in the Classics and taught Greek Mythology, Classical Archaeology, Greek Civilization, and Greek Tragedy as a teaching assistant for four years. Anne earned her bachelor’s degree in Physics and Chemistry (summa cum laude) from Mount Holyoke College and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi Societies. Anne lives in Naples, Idaho where she homeschools her three sons with her husband. She loves reading, running, and romping with her boys.

    Highly Recommended Resource:

Any math program can be used with the Integrated Homeschool Program, but Esther highly recommends Professor B because it presents math concepts contextually in order to facilitate understanding and connections rather than formula rote learning. This reduces the need for excessive and overwhelming practice questions, helps children to understand the ‘why’ of numbers, and reduces the possibility of a child developing math phobia.

PLEASE NOTE:  There is a 15% DISCOUNT for families taking the Integrated Curriculum when purchasing any Professor B Math product.  After registering for the Integrated Curriculum, contact Andrea Wallace (andreawallace@clrconline.com) for your discount code.
