Intermediate Arabic (Middle School Level)

Intermediate Arabic is designed for middle school students without any prior exposure to the Modern Arabic language. Students will learn to write the Arabic alphabet, to form letters into words, and then to form sentences using demonstrative, interrogative, and personal pronouns.  Adverbs and basic descriptive vocabulary will also be covered.  Students in Intermediate Arabic will learn the modern Arabic language in a simple, easy and fun way!

Sarah Yacoub, M.A.

Sarah Yacoub, who recently earned her master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania, teaches Arabic at Northampton Community College and is certified by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language.  She volunteers as an interpreter and translator for Interfaith in Action, collaborates with faculty and students at Moravian College, and has translated several Arabic language pieces for the TV program, 60 Minutes.  She previously taught Arabic in a Syrian middle school.
