Come and discover the joy and insight to be gained from reading the wisdom of the Church fathers in the original Greek!

This class is designed for students who have completed CLRC Greek 3, students who have completed CLRC’s self-paced College Level Greek, or students with a comparable background in Classical or New Testament Greek with permission of the instructor.

The course meets for 1.5 hours a week. In Fall 2023 students will translate selected texts from A Patristic Greek Reader by Rodney A. Whitacre. This course can be taken as a credit class or as an audit (available for ½ tuition for auditors). Students taking the class for credit will have approximately 4 hours of homework each week. The course will focus on the grammar and syntax of the Greek language, but will include occasional visits from Orthodox clergy or monastics to discuss the theology of the texts.

If you have a background in Biblical or Classical Greek come join us!  If you don’t – we would welcome you in our Greek 1 class or self-paced College Level Greek to begin learning Greek so you can join us in the future.
